the porch. part five.

we had planned a pretty wrap up of our front porch for you today but it snowed. two days ago he was fast and furiously working on the gingerbread siding (don’t you love it?) and the last of the metal roofing for the porch; he just needed one more hour to finish but the weather had other plans. which means stay tuned for part six (the finale.. we hope). the gingerbread siding is made from cement board (ours is hardieboard) and will be painted white sometime in the (semi) near future.

missed some… the porch: parts one, two, three, and four

How did you do this? Did you make it from Hardie board or special order it? I am looking for gingerbread siding. Hubs is putting on Hardie board slat today and I wanted to use gingerbread in the triangle above, just like you did. It looks awesome!

      kandy..
hi! we actually did special order it but from Lowes.. so you shouldn’t have any trouble getting it. at the contractor counter (where all of the lumber is located) they have books of the Hardie board products and this scalloped siding is one of the lines they sell. it came in really fast and is pretty reasonable. i just tried to find a link for it on their site for you but it isn’t on there, however we just went to the counter told them what we wanted and they pulled it up quite easily. good luck! would love to see a photo when you’re done.. we still have to paint ours but i love it!
