friday at redrocks
7before i even talk about how good this concert was…. i have to say not having my new mac yet, and my old one refusing to show any life has been a major pain in the rear!!! oh my dear lord. i really can’t even tell you. i *finally* got these pictures downloaded to the misters computer to do this post and i think i lost a few months of life doing it. seriously. i won’t be up and running completely till next week. in the meantime, when i feel i have hairs that can be spared, i’ll battle it out on his hp and get something fun on here. now that that’s out of the way…
we went to redrocks this past friday to see trombone shorty & orleans avenue, band of horses, and my morning jacket. we’ve seen band of horses twice before and this was the best yet. trombone shorty and mmj were firsts and trombone shorty is absolutely genius. ah-mazing. we were flabbergasted, if you have not heard them, an absolute must, that’s all i’m saying.
and my morning jacket. his voice (jim james), live at redrocks was p.o.w.e.r.ful. wow. we listen to mmj quite a bit but didn’t know all of the music, even the songs that weren’t my personal favorites were amazing because of the strength and clarity of his voice. and then the weirdest thing happened. out of the blue i thought to myself i would love to hear elton john sing at redrocks (which is strange because mmj’s music doesn’t make me think of e.j. at all) and 1o seconds later jim james sang rocket man. isn’t that amazing? ten seconds later. and it was unbelievable. if only when i thought about winning the lottery it would happen 10 seconds later. (; and they played 29 songs. good stuff. if you have a chance to go….
