i do not have a green thumb. i have only had success in the flower/greenery department with elephant ears. however, in this one plant species i have grown a mighty specimen. at our first home i planted a few bulbs and that elephant ear plant grew to over six feet tall and five feet wide with one hundred (100!) leaves with average spans of 3ft x 3ft. i was very impressed and proud, so proud. it was one of the few things i was sad to leave when we moved (that and our pool).
i have dreams of a little bit of gardening here at camp1899. we certainly have the yard space, our tiny house takes up only one little corner of our square footage. i’m thinking above ground boxes for some southern goodies not readily found at the farmers markets here. like okra, lots and lots of okra. and butter beans and collard greens, and basil for pesto. we’ll see.
and this terrarium, a tiny forest? i love it. another thing i’ve not had, if i were to try anything indoors it would be this. i’ve seen terrariums before but not with miniature trees in them, brilliant. a little box of colorado in a way, i need one with a tiny palm tree instead, to have a little bit of the coast with me while i’m amidst the rockies. have you ever had a terrarium? if so, what was your take on them? and later today, the only greenery that might actually make it inside our house….
yes to enamelware, yes to a funnel for my new coleman whiskey flask, yes to blue corn pancakes, yes to b&w socks and an entirely white canvas boat bag. and yes to trying bitters in cocktails. all from here.
swiss or swiss inspired makes me a little weak in the knees and i am obviously (like where-the-hell-have-i-been) way behind on this brand. la casita de wendy (a design duo from madrid) is amazing, has been around for years, apparently i’ve been living under a mushroom. we don’t even have little ones (so i’m not normally drawn into the 4ft and under crowds stuff) but helloo0.. that dress, those earmuffs?? ridiculous cuteness. i am way over my head in love with the black & white top and i don’t even sleep in long tee’s (i’m a pj pant set girl) but i don’t know, that squirrel, cute right?.
the mister & i love movies and i feel sure that as brilliant as these posters are that i am way behind the times on just finding them, but in the event any of you reading love movies like we do and have also not seen them…well they’re just too good not to share! and this is just the tip of the iceberg, so many to choose from. and that pig and everybody hustle, love.
an origami bear, some mistletoe (trick the mister into a few extra smooches), and whales & octopus…
