→ how was your weekend? we relaxed. went on some walks, enjoyed some ac, made a cuban style veggie dish, and watched the best documentary. have you seen forks over knives? it was recommended to me by a good friend and is so good. we’ve seen other great documentaries on the subject of food (super size me and food, inc.) but what we loved about this one is that it comes from the perspective of just medical and science. being vegan i love when light is shined on factory farming and animal cruelty. however, i know that for some people they won’t watch something on the subject matter because in a lot of ways ignorance is bliss. if you don’t “know” how bad the conditions are you don’t have to make changes.

in forks over knives their perspective is fueled 100% by health and well being. some of the most exhaustive and extensive studies ever done regarding the correlation to what we eat and how it affects our health are cited in the film, giving easy, clear examples of how what we eat causes cancer, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, fatigue, and so many other things. they follow a few people over the course of 8, 12 and 20 weeks and show their results, as well as a small group of people over the course of 20 years. it is amazing the changes in as short as 8 weeks. it is so worth watching if you have any desire whatsoever to feel better, be in better health, reverse certain conditions, rely less on medications and to live longer. we rented our copy from the library, hopefully yours will have it and if not here’s the website for more info!
