life in the fast lane

dbg-flowers-2

happy monday!! we had the best weekend.. busy & fun, perfect balance. he finished painting, only the baby loo is left for walls to be painted (which will later be wallpaper). we hung pictures and although we have a ways to go, it’s feeling more and more like home. in sad news, the golden egg that we so loved, has enjoyed it’s last day at camp1899. it was sold to us as a refrigerator but despite all of our tweaking and upon all of our research we’re resigned to the fact that it is in fact a freezer only. when not in freezer mode it drips from each shelf (the coils run along the shelves) and we are over the dripping. it is an amazing freezer, if only that was what we needed. ); tomorrow.. the new fridge gets delivered. we searched for another vintage but the cards kept turning up for new (he is not so secretly happy about this). so part of yesterday was spent under the house running the water line for the ice maker (we are sure that if we lived in europe we would forever lament having no ice at the ready because we have missed ice a lot, especially now that it is finally summer!).

somehow i’ve made it this far in life and had not seen the movie nightmare on elm street, serious cult classic stuff. loved it. you would think, even not having seen it, that the plot would have been given away for me by now, but no, i had no idea that freddy lived in the dream world. like i said, good. stuff. he of course saw it when he was like 10 and it scared the bejeezus out of him. do you have any movies that scare (or scared) you? i love a thriller, not so many scare me, at ten, for sure, but now.. not so much. and we watched a current movie, lest you think we are permanently stuck in the 80′s, gone. have you seen it? we give it a thumbs up.

we went to edgewaters first farmers market of the summer, it starts at the end of our street so no complaints from us on walking a whole 30 seconds each week for fresh produce. our first green peas of the summer. we played chit chat with friends over a little firefly and met some new friends for a great sunday evening in golden. and as promised, part 2 of the denver botanical garden visit from when mamma mia was here, if you haven’t been yet, it doesn’t disappoint!
