life in the fast lane
2…. don’t you just love long holiday weekends? we had the best time. we went to a party on friday night at a new friends home, and had the most fun i’ve had in i don’t know when.. i did-not-want-to-leave, thanks kelly & ben!!! i don’t think we could have possibly packed more into our sunday than we did… and we got to spend it all with our neighbors that we love. (we feel **extra lucky** that kelly & travis moved in across the street from us). the mister and i went on an early morning bike ride and he took over picture taking so you see me fully enjoying my newly adjusted bicycle, best thing ever those handlebars. as we got home k & t invited us on a hike we had been wanting to try (many more photos & info later in the week.. it’s a great hike if you live in the area), so we jetted off with them and their dogs for a couple hours of hiking.
then we all went downtown to the denver arts festival. we didn’t spend a ton of time on this adventure, most of the arts were fine arts, aka super expensive, and we were all in a fun/fair festival mood so we turned north to boulder for their big memorial day fest which was a perfect mix. we didn’t (sadly) partake in any of the rides, either too much ride for some of us, or not enough.. do you like rides? and if so, the scarier the better or the tamer the better? (i’m tame, he’s thrill..). a little festival food (amazing falafel), good people watching, and some browsing up and down pearl street before heading home.
it was one of those days that sean captured perfectly.. you know how when you’re a teen you’ll hop around and do a million things in a day, whatever sounds fun? that’s what we did. we tried one thing, then another, and then kept going as it all still sounded fun. we ended the day on the back deck, a cold one or two, and good laughs. so lucky, good times.
..and then, reality. monday we unloaded the last of our stuff from the neighbor (who kindly stored our overflow boxes after we sold our cargo trailer), i went through most but am staring at 3 big piles of s.t.u.f.f. (quickly becoming a 5 letter dirty word) that will occupy most of the week, he did yard work, and at the end felt rather accomplished all the way around. so it wasn’t all fun & games… how was your weekend?
