0a hummingbird and a vulture fly over the desert. what do they each find? a hummingbird is always looking for pretty, bright, sweet flowers. a vulture looks for rotting, decayed, dead things. each finds exactly what they are looking for. sweet, bright cactus flowers attract the hummingbird and things long past their prime are what the vulture finds. why is this? because they got what they looked for, just like we get what we look for…every time.
whatever you focus on is what you ultimately get. if you repeatedly talk and focus on bad traffic on the way to work, yammer on about it to anyone who will listen, guess what you get on the way to work tomorrow? more of the same. it is not an accident. if you expect, talk about and look for the negative… bingo! you’re a winner. just as true is the opposite. if you look for the good, you find the good.
what are you focused on? are you a hummingbird? or a vulture? i know which one people try to attract, think about it… we aren’t staring out our windows hoping the vultures come back each year.
