how was your weekend? we had one of those mixed work/off weekends with lots of hopes of xyz happening and for the most part none of it quite panning out. a good weekned though and  i found a few *extras* on our errand runs that are already on my favorites list. here’s what i found that i can’t imagine not having now…

i have wanted the clarisonic mia for awhile but hadn’t bitten the bullet on it’s $150 price tag yet (even though it gets glowing reviews) when i read a very thorough comparison of the oil of olay face srubber  to the mia and for $29 that was that. and it is so good. i’m using it in conjunction with oil of olay exfoliating cleanser which has teeny tiny beads and is just the right amount of scrub & gentle. next on my list to try (since i love these 2 so much) is an olay night cream, if you have any favorites i would love to hear about them!

and hello-what-have-i-been-doing-all-this-time-without-you my new and beloved diorshow heated lash curler. amazing. and they stay curled all day. and it’s so inexpensive ($25 at sephora), is battery operated so it should last forever, heats up in 30 seconds, and is so easy to use. i love it. (use *after* applying your mascara!!) and a teensy environmental rant here, i had previously bought the much acclaimed shu uemura curler and silly me assumed you could buy replacement rubber tips for it, and no, wrong, they don’t make them. what the ??? it’s made of metal, would be easy to use for years and years but the little removable and totally replaceable rubber tips, they don’t sell those, you have to chuck your perfectly good curler and buy another one. never again. and the diorshow works a bazillion times better so there. moving on…

lastly, i tried bumble & bumble’s texture (un)dressing creme to try and get some oomph in my super fine hair. it takes the tiniest bit, isn’t sticky or greasy or heavy and it held my volume all day through 80 degree weather, a long walk and some sweating. i’m sold. if you need a little extra help or want to create a bedhead look i totally recommend it, especially since i think this tube is going to last me an entire year for only $25.

i’ve been on a fruitless hunt for long-lasting, non-smudging (seemingly an impossible dream) eyeliner pencil when in desperation i started using an eye shadow and this mac brush and so far so good (mac actually makes an eyeliner brush, who knew?! i love my slanted brush though..). i may have taken the long road to get to this solution but better late than never (and luckily when cosmetics do not do what they claim you can trot them right back to the store for a refund!)

do you have any favorite products that you can’t live without? and favorite mascaras?? i’m always on the hunt for the perfect mascara, although this heated lash curler makes such a difference it might not matter as much anymore. (fyi.. i found my b&b and dior at sephora, and the olay scrubber & cleanser at target)

You sold me on the hair creme. I also have super fine hair – and I’m growing it out so I need hold but not heavy hold.

My go-to products are Bobbi Brown make-up. LOVE her stuff. The extreme party mascara is one of my favorites right now. It’s not stiff at all and you can keep loading more on and you will not have spider eyes!

And her long lasting foundation is pretty awesome too.

    Have a great week!

      kara,
thank you for the mascara recommendation, i love one that allows you to pile it heavy and NO spider eyes (the worst!) … the hair creme comes in a sample size too for $15 but i’d go for the big one, you can always return if you don’t like but i am super happy!
      xo, t.

The eyelash curler looks fun! My favorite mascara is also by Dior, it’s called Diorshow Iconic, I LOVE it!

I love beauty products and there are a ton I love but one thing I don’t think I could live without is the Sugar lip balm by Fresh. The last time I ran out of it, I tried to take a break from it since it’s a little $$ for lip balm. I found myself running to Sephora 2 days later in a panic! Haha! And, isn’t that store the best? I could spend hours there.

sephora is a candy store:) i love it. my favorite mascara is fairy drops. it forms tubes over your eyes and just slips off when you get it wet, so no raccoon eyes! i am way into the boscia line of products. lindsey, did you get the sugar lip balm first for you bday? i love it toooooo and got a free sample on mine, which is how i got hooked:)
