life in the fast lane

we went to the beach! kind of. one of the things i don’t love about denver is how far from the ocean we are. i’ve always been more of a beach girl than a mountain girl, but oh those rockies sure are pretty. we did find the next best thing though (we just have to close our eyes and imagine the water going on forever), at cherry creek reservoir. the sand is deep and clean and it honest to goodness feels like the beach, with a huge park attached for biking, camping and picnicking. and it’s only a half hour from home, hooray for sand + water!
otherwise, i’m counting the days till my new mac gets here. two weeks is a looonggg time all of a sudden. wednesday is the day, tick tock, tick tock. i flew through two books that were recommended to me, the informationist & the innocent, by taylor stevens. watched the season finale of dallas (i know, i know, i can’t help myself), and am sad that tonight is the series finale of the closer. do any of you watch? at least they’re giving us major crimes, but no kyra sedgewick… she’s back to full time with mr. bacon. we’ve been walking a ton, even a little alley walking (where we really get a peek at what’s what), and if all goes well, he has a couple of house projects on this weeks to-do list so we may actually have some updates later this week. fingers crossed! how was your weekend?
*please & thank you* link back to us if you re-post something you see here.

Sounds like you guys had a lovely weekend! So happy you beached it baby:) We did the same, had some cookouts, and last night, watched the end of the Olympics. I am always sad when it is over, especially for the athletes who won’t get another go at it. I looked at the mr and said, gosh where will we be in four years?… and added 4 years to everybody’s age in the fam…yikes!! I got two major dreaded projects done, I cleaned out my kids closets for the coming school year. Out with old, small and unused…and weeded my jungle of a backyard. I am ready for school to start and what’s even better, they only need new shoes!!! WHoooppp WHoooop!!!
the olympics seems like they would go on forever and then they are over sooo fast! and what a massively productive weekend!! and just think of all that time right around the corner when school starts (;
