MLK blvd

Why is a man that has done so much for so many people, has his own holiday (and national day off) and have a street named after him (in every major city in the United States) also have said street be one of the worst streets/worst area of town ever. (except in Charlotte, NC who gave the street a place of honor right in the middle of uptown). Just wondering.
